Jaffna and Colombo, Sri Lanka (2013)
In March 2013, eight South Asia Studies students participated in a week long study trip to Jaffna and Colombo, Sri Lanka to explore post-conflict reconstruction and reconciliation in the country.


 
Shanghai and Beijing, China (2013)
The newly established US-India-China Initiative at SAIS launched its inaugural study trip to China in January of 2013 to discuss the topic of Sino-Indian relations. The two week study trip brought together participants from SAIS, and leading graduate institutions in China and India. They students presented their collaborative trip reports in March 2013, during the inaugural meeting of the US-India-China Initiative.


 
Shanghai, China and New Delhi, India (2012)
In January 2012, South Asia Studies and China Studies organized a two week study trip to China and India to compare the economic development stategies of those two countries. The trip was genourously sponsored by the Starr Foundation.


 
New Delhi, India and Dhaka, Bangladesh (2010)
In January 2010, seventeen SAIS South Asia students visited India and Bangladesh. The trip, led by Dr. Walter Andersen, Acting Director of the South Asia Studies Program, focused on energy needs in South Asia.
