- Global Careers
Thank you for considering a gift to Johns Hopkins SAIS in support of our global educational institution that encompasses three campuses in Washington, DC, Bolonga, Italy, and Nanjing, China.
Alumni and friends have a tremendous impact on strengthening the mission of the school to educate tomorrow's leaders – individuals who are well positioned to excel in the international relations arena who will confront unprecedented challenges and exciting opportunities to serve. The school prepares innovative thinkers and problem-solvers with the economic, cultural and global expertise to operate across national boundaries and in complex international settings. We invite you to share our vision and support tomorrow's global leaders.
By choosing to direct your yearly giving to the Johns Hopkins SAIS Annual Fund, you are offering the school the flexibility of unrestricted funding to address needs on all operational areas as they arise during the course of the year. These areas may include programmatic seed funding, fellowship support and students' activities.
Fellowships play an important role where donors have an opportunity to establish relationships with students that last throughout their professional lives. Please designate your fellowship support to students at any of our three campuses. You will be invited to join us for events to meet students for whom you have helped.
A number of named fellowships have been established by our alumni and friends to offer new generations of students the opportunity to benefit from the school's experience. Some of them are listed here.
Through teaching and research, our faculty and students contribute to important global policy debates and advance new ideas. Support of these areas is critical to expand current and new programs based on their long term value.
Buildings on campus are spaces where you are always welcome to 'come home' and remember some of the best times of your life. They host classrooms—the heart of the school's experience—as well as events such as lectures, seminars, conferences, student government activities, graduations, and alumni reunions. Our buildings are the physical representation of our collective memory and a place where you will always 'belong.'
Planned gifts allow the school to prepare for the future, and may result in significant tax benefits or even a new source of income for you and your spouse. For additional information, please visit the Johns Hopkins Office of Gift Planning website at http://jhu.planyourlegacy.org/.
While a gift of any amount is appreciated, you can join the Christian A. Herter Society with a leadership-level annual gift of $2,500. The Society is named in honor of the school's co-founder and former US Secretary of State Christian A. Herter. Herter Society members are invited to special school events throughout the year.
A number of initiatives have been launched by our alumni and friends to commemorate individuals for their unique contributions.
Help make the school's unique educational experience accessible to international students with the passion and talent to make a difference in international relations. Designate your gift to your SAIS Europe Class Initiatives.

Philanthropy and community building are key to our success. We are extremely grateful to our generous donors who have made it possible to perpetuate the SAIS experience through a number of successfully concluded projects.
Celebrating donors for their commitment to SAIS is a meaningful way to foster a sense of community and belonging, a priority for SAIS. We honor our donors through named building spaces, research programs, Chairs, bequests, and fellowships.
The SAIS Europe building campaign was an incredible success story: 90 percent of donors to the campaign are Bologna alumni. Many have given individually, many through a class initiative. It was the exceptional, generous and overwhelming response of alumni and friends to the campaign that made this project a reality.
Private philanthropy supported the SAIS Europe building renovation and addition, the most ambitious project the Center has faced since its establishment in Via Belmeloro 11. Donors were recognized throughout the campus with named rooms and public spaces.
In 2014 SAIS Europe raised over $2.5 million to endow a Kenneth H. Keller Professorship to honor the legacy of Ken Keller, Director of the SAIS Europe Bologna Center from 2006 to 2014. To learn more about this success story click here.
