Registration and Placement Exams

Returning students from SAIS Thai Program can register online without taking any placement exam. All other students please follow the instructions below.

New students with no background in Thai should register in Thai Novice Low (SA.913.710.01).

Placement exams

All new students with background in Thai need to take the Thai placement exam in order to be placed in a class. The Thai placement exam consists of two parts:

1.  A written exam - includes reading and vocabulary.

2. An oral interview - students are required to take the written exam prior to meeting for their oral interview.
