N.Y. Federal Reserve Bank President Timothy Geithner to Speak at JHU SAIS

Timothy F. Geithner, president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, will give the next speech of the W. P. Carey Global Leader Lecture Series at the Johns Hopkins Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) on Wednesday, 10/4 at noon.

Geithner will speak about "Progress Toward Financial Stability in Emerging Market Economies." A 1985 graduate of SAIS, Geithner also will receive The Johns Hopkins University 2006 Woodrow Wilson Award for Distinguished Government Service.

This event is open to press coverage. However, following his lecture, Geithner will respond to questions from the SAIS community and guest audience only.

The event, which is open to the public, will be held in Kenney Auditorium located on the first floor of the school's Nitze Building, 1740 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. Members of the public should RSVP to 202.663.5636 or [email protected].

The W. P. Carey Global Leader Lecture Series was established to bring the best examples of public and private sector leadership to SAIS, where these executives can share their perspectives on leadership and success in the international arena with SAIS students and faculty.
