Johns Hopkins SAIS to host A Presentation on Northern European Security by His Excellency Peter Hultqvist, Minister for Defense of Sweden, on Tuesday, May 16, 2017

A Presentation on Northern European Security by His Excellency Peter Hultqvist, Minister for Defense of Sweden, will be hosted at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
 
The presentation will be followed by a conversation with the Minister, Johns Hopkins SAIS Dean Vali Nasr, and Hal Brands, Henry A. Kissinger Distinguished Professor of Global Affairs.
 
The event is presented by the Dean’s Forum and the Forum on Foreign Policy and Global Security by the school’s Foreign Policy Institute.

About the Speaker
Peter Hultqvist has been the Minister for Defense of Sweden since 2014. He is a member of the Swedish Social Democratic Party. Hultqvist was elected to the Riksdag, the highest decision-making assembly in Sweden, in 2006. He began his career as a journalist in 1977, after completing the Social Science Programme at the Hagaskolan.
