Johns Hopkins SAIS to host “Defense and Security in the Baltic Sea” with Swedish Defense Minister Peter Hultqvist on Wednesday, May 9, 2018

“Defense and Security in the Baltic Sea” with Peter Hultqvist, Swedish Minister for Defense, will be hosted at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
 
The event is presented by the Dean’s Forum at Johns Hopkins SAIS.

About the Speaker
Peter Hultqvist has served as Swedish Minister for Defense since 2014. He is a member and part of the Executive Committee of the Swedish Social Democratic Party. Hultqvist was elected to the Swedish Parliament in 2006. He served as the group leader in the Parliamentary Committee on the Constitution from 2010 to 2011.
 
From 2011 to 2014, Hultqvist was the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Defense, as well as the Defense Commission. Before he was elected to the Parliament, he was a Municipal Commissioner for 17 years in the county of Borlänge. He began his career as a journalist.
