Johns Hopkins SAIS to host “The Environmental Risks and Oversight of Enhanced Oil Recovery in the U.S.” on Friday, April 28, 2017

“The Environmental Risks and Oversight of Enhanced Oil Recovery in the U.S.” will be hosted by the Energy, Resources and Environment (ERE) Program at the Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
Enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and secondary oil recovery are commonly used for improving oil production through the injection of fluids like supercritical CO2 and water into the subsurface.
Until now, policy makers and the public have lacked a sufficient overview of the technology, environmental impacts, and regulations associated with these oil recovery techniques. The Clean Water Action-ERE Practicum Team will present its research and findings.
After the findings from the student practicum team, a panel discussion and Q&A session will follow with experts from Clean Water Action, Advanced Resources International, and the Climate Investigations Center.
