JHU SAIS to Host 12th Annual Washington Energy Policy Conference

The Johns Hopkins Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) will hold a one-day conference, "Integrating Energy Policy and Climate Policy," on Tuesday, 04/22 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The SAIS International Energy and Environment Program is co-sponsoring this Earth Day event with the National Capital Area Chapter of the U.S. Association for Energy Economics (USAEE).

Phil Sharp, president of Resources for the Future, will give the keynote address about "The U.S. Policy Challenge" at approximately 9:15 a.m. Expert speakers from industry, government, consulting firms and academia will speak throughout the day in the following panel sessions:

• 9 a.m., Welcoming Remarks
• 9:15 a.m., Keynote address by Phil Sharp
• 10 a.m., "Energy Security"
• 12:15 p.m., Luncheon address by David Thomas, first secretary at the British Embassy, on "Climate and Energy Policy in the U.K. and the European Union"
• 2 p.m., "Climate Policy Options"
• 5 p.m., Concluding Remarks and Reception

Admission to the conference by members of the public requires registration and there is a fee of $130 for USAEE members and $150 for nonmembers.
