JHU SAIS to Hold Discussion on America's Role in the World

The Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) will hold a forum, "The Case for Goliath: How America Acts as the World's Government in the 21st Century," on Monday, 04/3 at 5:30 p.m.

This is the next event of the "SAIS Faculty Book Series" which will feature a discussion of The Case for Goliath: How America Acts as the World's Government in the 21st Century, a book written by Michael Mandelbaum, Christian A. Herter Professor of American Foreign Policy and director of the American Foreign Policy Program at SAIS, recently published by PublicAffairs.

Mandelbaum will make some introductory remarks, followed by a panel discussion about the book. Panelists include:

• Fritz W. Ermarth, former chairman of the National Intelligence Council
• Robert Lieber, a professor of government at Georgetown University's Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service
• Robert Guest, Washington correspondent for The Economist

The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the first-floor auditorium of the school's Rome Building, located at 1619 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., in Washington, D.C.
