Middle East Expert Dennis Ross to Speak at JHU SAIS

Dennis Ross, counselor and Ziegler Distinguished Fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, will give the annual Rostov Lecture on International Affairs at the Johns Hopkins Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) on Friday, 11/19 at 12:30 p.m.

Ross, author of The Missing Peace: The Inside Story of the Fight for Middle East Peace, will speak about "Touring the Middle East Horizon: Challenges for the United States in 2005."

For more than 12 years, Ross played a leading role in shaping U.S. involvement in the Middle East peace process and in dealing directly with parties in negotiations. A highly skilled diplomat, he was the U.S. point man on the peace process in both the George H. W. Bush and Clinton administrations.

The event, which is open to the public, will be held in Kenney Auditorium located on the first floor of the school's Nitze Building, 1740 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. Members of the public should RSVP to [email protected] or 202.663.5636.

Established in 1990, the Rostov Lecture on International Affairs honors the memory of Johns Hopkins alumnus and businessman Charles Rostov.
