Financial Times Commentator Martin Wolf to Speak at JHU SAIS

Martin Wolf, associate editor and chief economics commentator for the Financial Times, will speak at a three-part lecture series at the Johns Hopkins Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) on Tuesday, March 28 at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 29 at 5:30 p.m. and Thursday, March 30 at 12:30 p.m.

Wolf's overall topic will be "Fixing Global Finance" during this next event of the Bernard L. Schwartz Forum on Constructive Capitalism. He also served as a senior economist at the World Bank and is author of Why Globalization Works.

Francis Fukuyama, the Schwartz Professor of International Political Economy and director of the SAIS International Development Program, will moderate the sessions.

Below are the specific themes for each lecture: March 28: "Hopes Unfulfilled: Capital Flows and Emerging Market Crises" March 29: "Capital Flows Upstream: The Emergence of Global 'Imbalances'"March 30: "Task Unfinished: Making Global Finance Work"

The lecture series is free and open to the public. The March 28 and 29 lectures will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the Rome Building Auditorium located on the first floor of the school's Rome Building, 1619 Massachusetts Ave., N.W. The March 30 lecture will be held at 12:30 p.m.in the Kenney Auditorium located on the first floor of the school's Nitze Building, 1740 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C.
