Natasha Simes

About

Born and educated in Moscow, Natasha Simes graduated from the prestigious Maurice Torrez Institute of Foreign Languages. She taught briefly in Moscow before emigrating to the United States. Shortly thereafter, she joined the Language Studies program at the Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington, DC. She has been a pioneer in the field of foreign language instruction for international affairs and other professional uses. In addition to the 7th edition of Political Russian, she is the author or co-author of four other textbooks: Years of Change: Reading the Russian Press; Scientific Russian: Readings in Russian Science and Technology (with Marina Rappoport); Russian Reader in International Affairs; On the Air : Russian Television and Politics (with Richard Robin and Ludmila Guslistov).
