Afghan President Hamid Karzai to Speak at JHU SAIS

Hamid Karzai, president of Afghanistan, will speak at the Johns Hopkins Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) on Tuesday, 05/24 at 6:30 p.m.

Karzai will speak about "The U.S.-Afghan Partnership" at the next W.P. Carey Forum of the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute at SAIS.

The lecture is not open to the public. However, the event is open to the media for coverage. Following his speech, Karzai will respond to questions from the SAIS community audience only.

Pre-set time for broadcast journalists will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Broadcast crews will be able to return to the auditorium after the security sweep at 4:30 p.m. All reporters covering the event must check in at SAIS no later than 5:30 p.m.

For security purposes, all reporters who plan to cover Karzai's speech must register by no later than 10 a.m. on Tuesday, 05/24.

The event will be held in Kenney Auditorium located on the first floor of the school's Nitze Building, 1740 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C.
