Economist David Hale to Speak at JHU SAIS

David D. Hale, global chief economist for Zurich Financial Services Group, will speak at the Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) on Tuesday, 01/29 at 5:30 p.m.

To address the major issues raised by globalization, SAIS created a lecture series, "The Forum on Constructive Capitalism." Hale will speak about "The World Economy in 2002: Will Globalization Continue or Stall?" at the forum's next event.

Hale joined Zurich Financial Services following its acquisition of Kemper Corporation, where he had served as chief economist for many years. He also serves a chairman of the board of China Online, L.L.C., a service provider for business and economic news about China. In addition, he has been a consultant to the U.S. Department of Defense on how changes in the global economy are affecting U.S. security relationships.

The event, which is open to the public, will be held in the Kenney Auditorium of the Nitze Building, located at 1740 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., in Washington, D.C. Members of the public should RSVP to 202.663.5650 or [email protected].
