Strategic Studies Staff Rides and Field Trips

The Strategic Studies program has planned and executed a large number of trips and staff rides since 2000. Our many excursions allow on-site views of military operations, historical events, and museums that offer perspectives a classroom may not deliver.

Strategic Studies Photo Album

This collection of videos and images is presented as a means of visual record keeping of the education, fun, and experience gained from staff rides, field trips, and other department activities. We hope you enjoy them.

The 2013 International Staff Ride will travel to Vietnam to study the Tet Offensive of 1968. For more information, access www.isr2013.com.

Strategic Studies Film Series

The Strategic Studies program in conjunction with the Merrill Center for Strategic Studies actively utilizes film as a learning tool. Through an annual film series, students, faculty, and members of the SAIS community at large explore issues that have applications within and beyond the field of Strategic Studies. Film series topics in the past have included leadership, combat in war, and civil-military relations.

Strategic Studies Cohen's Corner

Strategic Studies at SAIS makes extensive use of our website for various activities, including coursework, field trips, and staff rides. Students, both current and prospective, should check in here regularly: we update the website  often. The Strategic Studies home page can be found here.
