SAIS Corps is an organization within the Student Government Association that aims to provide the entire SAIS community with a variety of volunteer service activities, as well as organizational support for service activities identified and initiated by SAIS students. We offer a diverse array of service opportunities for SAIS students to 'act locally' with organizations such as One Brick, Greater DC Cares, the Ronald McDonald House, Turning the Page, So Others Might Eat, AmeriCorps, and many more. We also organize an international volunteer service activity that takes place annually during spring break. All students are welcome to join in any SAIS Corps activities of interest, and to utilize the SAIS Corps forum to promote volunteer activities they themselves are involved in. To get involved in SAIS Corps as an organizer for an activity you have in mind, or to be added to the list serve to be notified of service activities as they develop, contact leadership directly or send a message to volunteer.sais@gmail.com Web Resources: There are a number of internet resources aimed at helping you find a volunteer activity in your area, taking your skills and time availability into account. http://www.serve.dc.gov/cncs/cwp/view,a,1197,q,524954,cncsNav,%7C31022%7C.asp -- District of Columbia website, a good source. http://www.volunteermatch.org/ -- Enter your zip code and this site will look for opportunities in your neighborhood. http://servenet.org -- This site has lots of tutoring opportunities. www.idealist.org -- Local and international opportunities, a lot to filter through.
