The Washington, D.C. Campus

Approximately 580 full-time students study at the main campus in Washington, D.C. Some of the many resources available to these students are listed below.

The Office of Student Life provides the information needed for a fulfilling, healthy and engaging experience as a student at SAIS in Washington, including resources on housing, accessibility, healthcare, travel and graduation. This office also liaises with the SAIS administration and faculty on behalf of the students. SAIS provides International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) for those students from overseas, helping them maintain the proper visa status and providing them with employment resources once they join the SAIS community.

Current students can visit the Office of the Registrar for course registration, the academic calendar, transcripts and general enrollment questions.  The Business Office assists students with tuition and billing, SAIS ID cards and student employee payroll. SAIS offers several kinds of Financial Aid options, awarded on the basis of need and merit, and provides information on and assistance with applying for aid.

Career Services strives to help students throughout all the stages of their professional development, providing individual career planning and professional skills courses.

Throughout the school year, the Student Government Association (SGA) organizes numerous extracurricular events to bring students together. The SGA acts as the official channel for student communications, advocacy and activity planning. It also serves as the umbrella for professional, social and cultural student organizations.

Students can take full advantage of the Sydney R. and Elsa W. Mason Library, which includes thousands of print volumes, periodical and newspaper subscriptions, online full-text journals and access to hundreds of bibliographic, statistical and full-text databases.

Lastly, SAIS Information Technology Services offers numerous services to its students, including wireless Internet access, several computer labs, file storage options, and email services.
