Soren Jessen-Petersen is the James Anderson Adjunct Professor of Migration and Security Studies. He has served as Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Kosovo and Under Secretary-General of UNMIK; was also the European Union Special Representative in Skopje, Macedonia, the Chairman of the European Union Stability Pact's Migration, Asylum, Refugees Regional Initiative (MARRI) and Chair of the MARRI Steering Committee; also served as Assistant UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Director of the UNHCR Liaison Office at UN Headquarters in New York, High Commissioner’s Special Envoy to the former Yugoslavia, Chef de Cabinet of the High Commissioner for Refugees at UNHCR Headquarters in Geneva and Director of External Relations at UNHCR Headquarters.
