SAIS Part-time/ Non-Degree Programs

Overview

Whether you are a professional or a student preparing to enroll in future graduate coursework, our non-degree programs allow you to enhance your topical, theoretical and practical knowledge of global issues without the time constraints of a full-time program. Courses are available in areas such as international relations theory, policy studies, development, regional studies and language studies. In addition to fall and spring, we also offer a summer term. Structured for the working professional, summer classes are scheduled two evenings each week. Students can earn four graduate-level credits for any non-language course taken as a non-degree student at SAIS.

Certificates

Non-Degree students can earn a Certificate in International Relations or a Certificate in International Development.  These certificates are designed to help students and professionals gain academic credentials without pursuing a full degree as they advance their careers. Each certificate requires a series of four courses. Click here for more information.

Our Students

Non-degree students tend to be affiliated with U.S. government agencies, the armed forces, corporations, foreign governments and other organizations engaged in international affairs. They are also graduate students at other area universities, and those seeking to enhance their applications to graduate school.
