All foreign nationals are required to be ìregisteredî with the U.S. Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services.  Fortunately, this happens automatically when you entered the United States and were issued an I-94 card.  Your registration will be automatically updated whenever you apply for an extension or a change of status.  You are required to carry your ìregistrationî documents (your I-94 card) with you at all times.

Name ChangesYou are required to report any legal changes to your name or the names of any of your dependents.  This change must be reported to the Office of International Student and Scholar Services within 10 days of the name change. ISSS will update your record with US CIS through SEVIS.

Address Changes

Furthermore, you are required to keep US CIS informed of you current physical address in the United States You are required to report to ISSS any change in where you live within ten days. The ISSS director will update the relevant school records and officially notify the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services.

If you are subject to Special Registration requirements, you are also required to notify US CIS of your address changes using a form AR-11SR.
