Curricular practical training is an excellent option for students in F-1 status to gain practical, hands-on experience in their field of study. The authorization for this type of training will enable you to work at an off-campus location in a training program that is "an integral part of an established curriculum." Because Curricular Practical Training is specific to your academic program, you must work closely with your academic advisor on determining whether a particular job or internship would qualify as an integral part of your curriculum.
