Wireless Internet Access Information

SAIS has two wireless networks available for Internet access.

The wireless network named "hopkins" is a secure network available to students, faculty, and staff. To access the Internet using the hopkins network, you'll need to know your JHED ID (retrieve it at http://my.jhu.edu ). You must connect using the hopkins network in order to access certain services, such as the JHU Libraries' online resources and printers in the Library's Laptop Room and Computer Lab. Note that you only need to set up the hopkins network once; it should remain in your wireless network/profile list after set-up. Depending on your laptop's operating system, the instructions for setting up the hopkins network will vary.  Click on the appropriate link below.

The wireless network named "JHGuestnet" is primarily for guests who are visiting SAIS. It is not secured in any way and access to certain Library and SAIS applications is not available. JHGuestnet provides a quick and easy way to access the Internet using a wireless card. To access the JHGuestnet network, if your system does not start the connection automatically, you simply need to connect by selecting it using your specific wireless management application. Then open a web browser, accept the terms of use, and access the Internet.
