Academic Technology Services

SAIS offers a number of services to support innovative approaches to the use of technology inside and outside the classroom setting.  Please contact Nathan Kreps for more information on any of the services listed here.

Workshops
We offer periodic workshops to present a general overview of the technology resources that are available to you as well as fostering a collaborative and hands-on approach to learning new skills based on the workshop theme.  Sample topics include "How Learning Management Systems Work and Why", "Blogging for Higher Education", and "Virtual Worlds as Instructional Tools".

One-on-One Training
One-on-one training is a hands-on and personalized approach to learning everything you need to know about specific technologies, and it occurs at a pace that is comfortable for you.  This is an excellent opportunity to dive more deeply into the tools at your disposal and to engage them with confidence.

Curriculum Consulting
Even small curriculum changes can represent a big step toward modernizing how faculty and students interact.  We will meet with you on an individual basis to develop a completely customized plan for integrating technology into your curriculum.  We will explore ways to modify current lecture and reading materials and convert them into dynamic, 21st Century instructional components.

Assessment and Evaluation
An integral part of integrating academic technology is making sure it is an effective addition to the curriculum.  We provide consultation and other technical services to help gather, assess, and evaluate data to determine learning outcomes.
