The Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) is a leading graduate school of international affairs, educating students for professional careers in government, business, journalism, international law and non-profit organizations. Approximately 190 American and non-American students study at the center, the only American graduate institution of its kind in Europe. A multi-national faculty teaches courses in international politics and economics, European and other regional studies and foreign languages.
- Hopkins-Nanjing Center for Chinese and American Studies in the People’s Republic of China
(established 1986)
The center, host to as many as 140 Chinese and American students, is administered jointly by Nanjing University and SAIS. Classes for American and other international students are taught in Mandarin by Chinese professors, while Chinese students study in English with American professors.
