Background The Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) is a world-renowned graduate school dedicated to the study of international relations. SAIS has demonstrated its commitment to educating future global leaders for more than 60 years, specializing in a master’s program that investigates international issues in significant depth, grounded in economics and regional expertise. With campuses located in Washington, D.C., Nanjing, China, and Bologna, Italy, SAIS is a global institution. With generous support from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, SAIS continues to be a leader and innovator in transatlantic relations. Stavros Niarchos Foundation Fellowships allow SAIS to welcome top graduate students from the European Union (E.U.) and specifically Greece to the campuses in Bologna, Italy, and Washington, D.C., to complete a two-year master of arts in international relations. Stavros Niarchos Foundation Internships provide stipends for students that meet the same criteria to pursue summer career experiences. SAIS shares the Stavros Niarchos Foundation’s dedication to education, particularly in creating new opportunities for underserved populations within and outside of Greece.
