Washington, D.C.—January 31, 2013— The University of Pennsylvania’s Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program has ranked the Center for Transatlantic Relations (CTR) at the Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) as the No. 1 university-affiliated think tank in Washington, D.C., No. 5 in the United States and No. 8 in the world.
The 2012 Global Go To Think Tanks rankings report released by the University of Pennsylvania is based on a worldwide survey of 1,900 scholars, journalists, policymakers and peers from 120 countries, evaluating 6,603 think tanks from every region of the world. An integral part of SAIS, the Center for Transatlantic Relations, directed by Daniel Hamilton, seeks to advance the U.S.-European partnership in addressing the global challenges of the 21st century.
