Off-Campus Access to Library Databases For information on how to remotely access online databases, see Off Campus Access. Library's Laptop Room Printers, SAIS Computer Lab Printers, and Multimedia Center's Printer To print from your laptop to the Laptop Room printers, the SAIS Computer Lab's printers (in Nitze building), or the Multimedia Center's printer (in Rome), you must install the Pharos print software on your system. If you are using a wireless connection, you must configure your system so that it can connect to the Pharos print server. Common Printing Problems and Solutions If you send a document to print from a Library workstation or from your laptop and it does not print out properly, view the common printing problem and solutions handout. Wireless Internet Access at SAIS To access the Internet using a wireless card, you must set up the wireless network on your laptop. For instructions, see Wireless Information. Antivirus Information and Removal Tools Students may download Symantec AntiVirus for free. Log in with your JHED ID and password to download the application. For the latest information on recent viruses and how to remove them from your system, see Symantec Security Response. Saving Documents to Public Workstations You may save documents to the local hard drives of the public workstations, but please remember that the workstation drives are cleaned out at random times throughout the semester.
The Library offers the following resources and services: 4 printers on the sixth floor, 3 of which are double-sided*, and an additional 2 printers in the eighth floor Laptop Room. 5 photocopiers on the sixth floor, all with scan to e-mail capability. 4 group study rooms on the seventh and eighth floors, with wall monitors/Internet access. GS Room 8B also has SmartBoard capabilities and a podium PC. Wireless Internet access throughout the Library.There are also 2 finance-related workstations located outside of the Library: Bloomberg (in the WLRC) and Datastream (in the SAIS Econ Dept).
