Off-Campus Access to Library Databases
For information on how to remotely access online databases, see Off Campus Access.

Library's Laptop Room Printers and/or the SAIS Nitze Building's Basement Printer
To print from your laptop to the Laptop Room printers or the SAIS Basement printer, you must install the Pharos print software on your system. If you are using a wireless connection, you must configure your system so that it can see the Library's print server.  For instructions, visit the Laptop Room Printing page if you want to print to the Laptop Room printers. Visit the Basement Printing Page if you want to print to the Nitze Basement printer.

Common Printing Problems and Solutions
If you send a document to print from a Library workstation or from your laptop and it does not print out properly, view the common printing problems and solutions handout.

Wireless Internet Access at SAIS
To access the Internet using a wireless card, you must set up the wireless network on your laptop. For instructions, see Wireless Information.

Antivirus Information and Removal Tools
Students may download Symantec AntiVirus for free.  You must log in with your JHED ID and password to download the application.  For the latest information on recent viruses and how to remove them from your system, visit the Symantec Security Response web site.

Saving Documents to Public Workstations
You may save documents to the local hard drives of the public workstations, but please remember that the public workstation hard drives are cleaned out at random times throughout the semester. If you save a document to one of the public workstations and you need to keep it saved there temporarily, please tell a staff member to let the Library Systems Administrator (Sonny Singh) know. If you forget to do this, documents you’ve saved on any workstation(s) may be deleted at any time.
