SAIS Library serves patrons with disabilities by providing special assistance to facilitate the use of the Library and its collections. If you have a disability that limits your independent use of the Library, please consult a librarian for assistance. If your disability requires the use of assistive technology, the Library will make every reasonable effort to accommodate your needs; all such accommodations must be arranged prior to your use of the Library. Depending upon your particular need, Library staff members will assist you by: - Facilitating your use of the online JHU Libraries Catalog.
- Filling out hold slips, ILL requests, or other library forms.
- Retrieving books from stacks and shelf areas (depending on the availability of library staff.).
- Photocopying a limited number of pages from books and journals at the usual library rate.
- Providing a personal tour of the Library.
- Providing help with use of the Library's electronic resources, including electronic reserves.
- Providing help with use of the Library's print reference collection.
- If library staff are busy and the assistance you need requires an extended period of time, you may be asked to return at a less busy time or make an appointment. You are responsible for complying with due dates and other library borrowing rules for all materials checked out in your name.
