About The Robert H. Evans Library
The Robert H. Evans Library occupies a wing of the building and seats more than 150 in its large study rooms. The library contains a specialized collection of more than 85,000 volumes – one of continental Europe's richest English-language collections on international relations. Holdings are concentrated in the fields of international affairs, international economics, European history and politics, and international law. SAIS Europe students and faculty also have access to many specialized academic online databases.
In addition to supporting the educational and research needs of the SAIS community, the library is also open for consultation to local and visiting scholars. On receipt of a library card, members of the general public may borrow two books at a time. These circulate for a period of 28 days, but are subject to recall if requested by a SAIS Europe student or faculty member.
To apply for a borrower's card
- come to the library, bringing a current carta d'identità, passport or driver's license and fill in an application form. The library card (tessera) will be processed and mailed to your home address. This usually takes 10 days, and books cannot be borrowed before the tessera
has been received.
Photocopy facilities are available in the library.
Please note that valuables should never be left unattended in the library.
