| | SAIS Hosted Conference on 21st Century U.S.-Korea Alliance on May 6 The U.S.-Korea Institute at SAIS and The Hwaejeong Peace Foundation of the Dong-A-Ilbo hosted a conference, "Forging a 21st Century U.S.-Korea Aliance: Identifying Obstacles and Opportunities," on Tuesday, May 6. This day-long conference featured three keynote speakers: Rep. Gary Ackerman (D-N.Y.), who spoke on "A Congressional Perspective on U.S.-Korea Relations;" Rep. Ed Royce (R-Calif.), who spoke on "Gauging the Six-Party Talks;" and Jay Lefkowitz, special envoy for human rights in North Korea for the U.S. State Department, who spoke on "Human Rights in U.S. Policy Toward North Korea."
