Five-Semester Option
Students who meet admissions requirements for both the HNC and SAIS complete two semesters in Nanjing and receive a certificate in Chinese and American Studies, followed by three semesters at SAIS’s Washington/Bologna M.A. program. Through these joint programs, students can apply their regional and linguistic skills to the broader study of international relations or business.

The Faculty
At HNC, international students gain first-hand knowledge of Sino-global relations by taking courses in Chinese taught by Chinese professors. During the remaining three semesters in Washington, D.C., students take classes from SAIS professors, who are world-renowned for their commitment to teaching and their expertise in international relations.

Broaden Your Experience at Two Campuses
The first two semesters of study are completed at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center in Nanjing, followed by three semesters at SAIS in Washington, D.C. Through this joint program, students can apply their regional and linguistic to the broader study of international relations or business.
