As the title indicates, this course will compare the foreign policies of major powers. It will introduce parameters for comparison, such as relative power, the decision-making process, the nature of domestic political institutions, historical experience, strategic culture, ideology, and grand strategy. After this the foreign policies of the US, China, India, Russia, and Japan will be surveyed.
