Poverty Reduction and Rural Development in China

 
Examines China's approach to rural development and poverty reduction since 1949. China's experience will be set in the context of international approaches and trends. The course also considers rural migrant laborers, environmental concerns, water and land constraints, vulnerable segments of the rural population, and village governance. From the development practitioner's perspective, the course explores ways to support or participate in China's rural development and poverty reduction program.
