The course will cover the economies of the MENA region. It will include discussions of the energy based industries, the role of the State vs. that of the private sector, development strategies and employment issues. There will be extensive review of the financial markets of the region and their contribution to the economies. The course will be very pragmatic using simulations and use the experience of the instructor as well as of the students.
