Current Challenges in American Foreign Policy

As the United States confronts an uncertain, troubled world, its foreign policy faces many newer issues such as failed states, supporting democracy and human rights, humanitarian relief, migration and climate change. Although terrorism remains the most serious threat, humanitarian intervention and nation-building have been the most difficult problems over the last two decades. The course focuses on how to approach these functional issues as well as how the U.S. government should be organized to deal with them.
