Comparative Health Systems in Developing Countries

 
Through readings, lectures, assignments and discussion, the course will build students’ knowledge of trends in the key elements of financing, organization and delivery of healthcare in developing countries. The course will emphasize the evolution of institutional and individual incentives for performance and measures of accountability. The course will help students gain an understanding of the political and institutional realities facing delivery of health systems at national and sub-national levels, and the evidence behind current approaches to improving health care outcomes.
