Has taught Chinese at SAIS since 1976; previously taught at University of California, Berkeley, Stanford University and Middlebury College; established the Chinese Language Program at JHU’s Homewood campus Language Teaching Center; is a Certified Chinese Speaking Test Rater for the Center for Applied Linguistics; received the Excellence in Teaching Award at SAIS in 1987; M.S., education, The Johns Hopkins University
