Background and Education

Previously taught Modern Arabic at the Università di Bologna, Facoltà di Lettere e Filosofia; at the Università Popolare di Parma and at the Università di Bologna, Facoltà dei Beni Culturali in Ravenna; at IsIAO (Istituto Italiano per l’Africa e l’Oriente). Currently application evaluator for Arabic for CLS (Critical Language Scholarship Program American Councils for International Education) Washington DC; arabic teacher at the Amilcar Cabral Center, Comune di Bologna, and the Biblioteca di San Lazzaro in San Lazzaro, Italy; translator for the City of Bologna and formerly a language and cultural consultant at the Università di Trieste and the Università di Bologna; consultant for the City of Bologna (in this capacity taught Modern Arabic and Colloquial Arabic - Moroccan and Egyptian - at different levels and supervised and coordinated the teaching of languages at primary and secondary Italian schools); linguistic-cultural mediator and trainer with various institutions including municipalities, health organizations, educational and nongovernmental organizations; regularly attends conferences and workshops on Arabic language and culture in Italy and abroad; M.A., political science, Università di Bologna.
