Suzana Lipovac is the founder and Managing Director of KinderBerg International e.V., which has been providing humanitarian assistance in the Balkans since 1993. In 2002 KinderBerg International started projects in Kabul and Southern Afghanistan, setting up emergency relief ambulances and health care stations since 2006. Kinderberg International has been running the civil-military project "Community Building" in 4 provinces in Northern Afghanistan, which is funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany. Kinderberg International is working close with the local community leaders in organizing and attending jirgas and with the Ministry of Public Health of Afghanistan.
