Part of the Political Narratives of Populism Seminar Series

Stefaan Walgrave is professor of political science at the University of Antwerp. He leads the Media, Movements and Politics research group at Antwerp’s political science department (www.m2p.be). His research focuses on media & politics, protest and social movements, and public opinion and elections. He has recently published on political agenda-setting, populism, issue ownership, media hypes, party-voter congruence, anti-war movements and protest participation. Starting in 2012, he is leading an ERC-project on how political elites ‘read’ society. He was a visiting scholar at Harvard University (2003-2004) and Stanford University (2011-2012).
