The Center for Constitutional Studies and Democratic Development (CCSDD) is a partnership between the Bologna Center and the University of Bologna’s Faculty of Law. The center carries out research and training related to countries undergoing a transition to democracy. Through conferences, workshops, publications, study trips, summer schools and film screenings, CCSDD addresses issues related to civil society development and legal reform.

Current projects include a summer school on European Union and Legal Reform for graduate students in law and political science from Central and Eastern Europe, a youth organizing institute focused on conflict resolution and community organizing for college-age activists living in Southeastern Europe, a publication series on comparative public law, a human rights film festival and annual study trips for Bologna Center and University of Bologna students to the Balkan states.
