Introduction to Photojournalism

Course Description
This course covers the basic mechanics and aesthetics of good photography, from capturing images in the camera to finishing, managing and transmitting those images via computer. The course will include strategies for standing out from the crowd and for building relationships with editors and communications directors. In addition, it will examine how photographs are consumed by media outlets and institutions such as non-governmental and development organizations. Ethical concerns will also be discussed.
