Discount Summer, Spring and Fall Courses

SAIS alumni and graduates of full-time, SAIS-affiliated programs, including the Bologna Center Diploma and Hopkins-Nanjing Center Certificate, receive a tuition discount of 25 percent on all summer courses and 50-percent on all fall and spring courses, space permitting. Offerings include international relations, economics, policy studies, development, conflict management, regional studies, several language courses and more. For details, call 202.663.5671.

Library Privileges

  • Alumni may obtain a free pass for in-house use of the SAIS Library in Washington, D.C.
  • Borrowing privileges are $50 year for SAIS Washington Library; $200 year for all JHU libraries.

  • • Alumni are welcome to consult, at no charge, the Robert H. Evans Library at SAIS in Bologna, and on application for a borrower's card can borrow books from the general circulation stacks. Because this website is dependent on voluntary participation, please encourage fellow alumni to sign up. A few quick tips to help you succeed during your first login attempt:

    1. Make sure you use the email address at which you receive all SAIS updates. That is the email address we have on file for you, and the one that will help you access JHU Connect.

    Online Professional Skills Courses

    SAIS Career Services offers alumni the opportunity to take online skills courses offered through Harvard Business School Publications in accounting, finance, spreadsheet modeling and quantitative analysis. For more information, contact Martina Leinz at mleinz@jhu.edu.

    Career Resources for Alumni

    • Job Search Resources & SAISWorks – For alumni making a career transition or needing to assess their career options, registering on SAISWorks, our online career management system, will expand your resources and services by providing the following:
    • ■Jobs Database – Gain access to a variety of jobs, for both mid- and advanced-level candidates at some of SAIS's top employers; this also includes the ability to set up search agents that automatically e-mail a user-defined list of opportunities.

      ■Event and Programming RSVPs – Some events are open to all alumni, some special events are RSVP only. Alumni must be registered on SAISWorks to attend. Many events are for students only and if so, will be noted in the event description.

      ■Skills Courses – Career Services offers online skills courses in Accounting, Finance, IT for Management, Quantitative Methods and Spreadsheet Modeling, which are open to alumni. For more information, please contact Martina Leinz at mleinz@jhu.edu. We also offer a variety of skills courses on the Washington campus for current students. As space is limited, these courses are typically not open to alumni.

      ■Counseling Meeting – Alumni are welcome to schedule a meeting with a counselor to review your job-search strategy, update your resume, or obtain contacts at employers of interest; additional follow up meetings can also be planned if recommended by the counselor. Please make sure you have a current resume and profile in SAISWorks before you schedule a meeting. Meetings are also available via phone or Skype.

    Transcripts

    Alumni are able to access their transcripts at any point for both their personal and professional endeavors.

    Transcript Request Instructions

    Official and unofficial transcripts can only be obtained through the Office of the Registrar. Non-degree seeking students may collect one free transcript from our office following grade entry. Current degree seeking students receive transcripts free of charge including a free transcript at graduation. All other requests are $5.00 per transcript.

    Request Transcripts Online

    *Note:  Transcripts for all international alumni and Chinese alumni living outside of China are available from the SAIS Registrar's Office in Washington DC. Alumni who do not have US checks in China may send a money order. Please allow 2 weeks processing time between the time the SAIS Office of the Registrar receives your request and the time we mail out your transcript to the addresses specified on your request form.*

    To request transcripts from the Hopkins-Nanjing Center, you can either:

    1) mail in a copy of the transcript request form or send a fax or email a scanned copy of the form to the SAIS Registrar's Desk with the subject line "Hopkins-Nanjing Center Transcript Request". Enclose a payment of US $5.00 per transcript. Please pay by check or money order made out to "Johns Hopkins University" for the TOTAL amount requested.
