Congratulations on your acceptance to SAIS! The Office of Alumni Relations is proud to welcome you to the community and we want to give you an opportunity to meet with alumni who stay connected through SAIS clubs in key locations and evolving groups worldwide. Our alumni hold positions of leadership in government, business, journalism, non-profit and multilateral sectors and can offer insights on how their student experience benefitted them after completing their degrees.   5. Career Changing SAISer Works on International Sanctions Package Being Applied to Iran

    Eleven years ago, after the 911 terrorist attacks, SAIS alumnus Mark Dubowitz S'97 left his job as a Bay Street lawyer and high-tech venture capitalist in Toronto to instead become executive director of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (FDD). As reported by the National Post, "he is [now] a recognized international expert on developing sanctions that might cripple Iran’s oil industry."

  6. Taking on New Responsibility at Avascent

    Christina Balis B'99, S'00, Ph.D. '05, who has long played the role as principal at Avascent, will take on new regional responsibility as lead for its European operations.
