- M.I.P.P. : SAIS also offers a one-year (eight courses) Masters of International Public Policy degree for mid-career professionals. To apply you must have nine years of professional experience in positions of increasingly responsibility, preferably in a career related to international affairs or business. Approximately 25 M.I.P.P. students begin each fall, typically in Washington DC, but also occasionally in Bologna.
- Ph.D. : SAIS also offers a Ph.D. program to a small number of students in certain SAIS fields. Applicants must be nominated by a SAIS field director, and must have completed the SAIS M.A. or a similar M.A. in International Relations or Political Science.
