Students electing to complement their regional concentration with an Emerging Markets specialization must fulfill the requirements of their geographic specialization in one of the following regional programs: - Africa - Middle East - Western Hemisphere / Latin America - Russia and Eurasia - Asia: China / South Asia / Southeast Asia - In addition to satisfying the requirements for these programs (typically six courses), students must take two courses in regional programs outside their area of concentration.
- Some departments may allow students to take one of their six required courses outside their regional specialization. Students should consult with their regional program directors.
- Students who concentrate in International Development and other functional areas and who wish to add the Emerging Markets Specialization are welcome to contact Professor Sobol to discuss a possible course program.
2. To complete the emerging markets specialization, students must select as their two economics electives - the two courses required beyond Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Trade, and Monetary - courses relating to the emerging markets.
