Awidya Santikajaya

Awidya Santikajaya grew up in Blitar and Jakarta, Indonesia. After completing his undergraduate degree in Economics from University of Indonesia with cum laude predicate in 2006, he carried out research and taught at a university of Indonesia for a year. During that time, he won five national scientific writing competitions in economics and was awarded as the best university alumni in the research field.  His interest in international economy led him to serve in the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2007. In junior diplomatic training, he became one of the best graduates.  He was awarded taking an internship in the Indonesian Embassy in Washington, DC and to join diplomatic training in the Netherlands, Belgium, and France.

His responsibility in the ministry is to handle international economic cooperation and his concern about ASEAN economic integration led him to SAIS where his concentration is Southeast Asia Studies. Awidya hopes his knowledge and skills from SAIS will be useful not only for his future career, but also for Indonesian diplomacy.
