Dominic Nguyen

A 2001 graduate of the University of Houston, Dominic earned his undergraduate degree in political science.  After college, he worked on Capitol Hill for five years as a legislative assistant, where he professionalized his interest in international affairs.

During the summer of 2008, Dominic worked for the State Department at the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam.  Assigned to the Political Section, he helped civil society activists develop political participation grant proposals, coordinated the humanitarian resettlement of a prominent labor activist and researched the Vietnamese government’s efforts to curtail human trafficking.

Now undertaking his second year of study at SAIS, Dominic is working towards his M.A. in International Relations with a concentration in Southeast Asian Studies.  Building upon his experience and the remarkable education he received at SAIS, Dominic plans to pursue a career overseas in Vietnam.
