Western Hemisphere Studies | Internships and Research Fellowships

Internships are an integral part of the learning experience and an entrée to future employment.  WHS encourages students to pursue internships and research opportunities in the region during the summer and in Washington, DC, during the school year.  To this end, WHS offers a summer internship and fellowship program that provides placement and funding opportunities to allow students to work or carry out research in the region (Latin America or Canada) during the summer between the first and second year of the M.A.  The rules and procedures for application are outlined in separate documents linked below.  Please contact Anne McKenzie for additional information.

WHS summer internship and fellowship programs are limited to students enrolled in WHS who have fulfilled a minimum set of WHS requirements by the middle of their second semester at SAIS.  Interested Bologna-WHS students should inquire about the application process.  Ph.D. students may apply for research fellowships.
