Background:

Dr. Matsukata currently is a senior policy adviser at Alston and Bird, LLP and previously served as the the Chair of the Strategic International Business Practice at Hunton & Williams, LLP.  Before joining Hunton, he served as Director of Policy Planning for the United States Trade Representative.  Dr. Matsukata was also Senior Policy Advisor to U.S. Senator Joseph I. Lieberman for 5 years, and served Senator Lieberman in the same capacity during the 2000 national presidential election campaign.
